Building Trust Initiative

Under the leadership of our founding member Penn Nursing’s NewCourtland Center for Transitions and Health, the Coalition for Trust in Health & Science has conducted extensive research into proven interventions that address misinformation and distrust in the context of health and science. Part of this work included convening the Building Trust Initiative — a diverse, interdisciplinary group of scholars (with backgrounds in law, psychology, political science, and communications) who are advancing the widespread application of interventions with sufficient evidence (ex: debunking, health literacy) and identified interventions with promising evidence that need further testing (ex: training and effectively deploying trusted messengers).
