Our Vision and Pledge

As members of the Coalition for Trust in Health & Science we share this Vision, that:

All people have equitable access to the accurate, understandable and relevant information necessary to make personally appropriate health choices and decisions.

Myth-Busting

We are all aware that health myths are prevalent throughout our communities and are easily spread by social media and word of mouth.

Unfortunately, these incorrect messages, which are too often deliberately transmitted, can result in poor health choices that lead to unnecessary misery, suffering and even premature death. This section is devoted to bringing these myths to the public’s attention, with accompanying facts from credible experts, so that you will not be mislead by the purveyors of misinformation who seek to do you harm.

Resources

People deserve to have trustworthy and science-based information with which to make personally appropriate health and medical decisions for themselves, their families and the communities in which they live and work.

This section is intended to provide you with information that will help you make optimal decisions that lead to the best possible health outcomes.

The Benefits

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout.

The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).

Frequently Asked Questions about the Coalition

Strengthening trust and confidence in information to support the health decisions of patients, families and communities.

America is experiencing a tidal wave of misinformation and disinformation, escalating already dangerously high levels of mistrust and distrust in healthcare, public health and science. As the COVID pandemic demonstrates, the tragic consequences are preventable deaths and unnecessary suffering for millions of people.

The broad health and healthcare ecosystem has reason for concern and a duty to act to ensure that everyone has the understanding of, and confidence in, evidence-based recommenda4ons to make personally appropriate health decisions. Many are taking praise-worthy ac4ons. However, fragmented efforts will not be sufficient to address a problem so pervasive and complex. Ac4ng separately will lessen our impact and fail to achieve the scale commensurate to meet the challenge.
