This article from Academy Health reviews research and surveys demonstrating the profound ways in which public lack of trust in medical institutions, doctors, and government exacerbated the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. It also shows how public lack of trust in medical/health institutions deteriorated further during the pandemic.
